A new Berlin-style doner kebab restaurant is opening in Stockport next month. German Doner Kebab is launching at a site over at Stockport Retail Park, and it’s due to open to the public for takeaway and collection on March 4th. Located in the former Carphone Warehouse unit on the retail park, GDK will host 66 covers and create 25 new jobs, from management to serving staff. GDK says it has created a healthy and nutritionally balanced approach to traditional kebabs. Its kebabs use only the highest quality produce, like lean succulent beef and chicken fillets imported directly from Germany, alongside fresh, local vegetables, a special Doner Kebab bread, ‘secret sauces’ and a unique blend of traditional spices.
GDK’s first store opened in Berlin in 1989, and now boasts more than 50 stores across Europe and the Middle East, with plans for several more UK restaurant openings in 2021. Kamal Khan, Operations Manager, said: “We are delighted to be bringing German Doner Kebab to Stockport. We’ve been looking for the perfect site in Greater Manchester for a while, and the unit on Stockport Retail Park is a great fit for us. “We’re looking forward to welcoming new customers for takeaway and collection initially, and for a sit-down meal when restrictions permit. “We hope German Doner Kebab will offer families and groups of friends something new and different – delicious, fresh, healthy kebabs, with something on the menu for everyone to enjoy.”
