Betsy's Sweet Shop

While Biscoff continues to dominate the dessert world, one Greater Manchester sweet shop has come forward with the next unlikely food trend; Rusks.

Any parent will know the significance of Rusks; the tasty, melt-in-your-mouth biscuits designed for teething babies that also happen to double down as the perfect snack for grown ups.

And now, after years of parents and older siblings alike sneaking Rusks out of the cupboard when no one’s looking, a sweet shop here in Greater Manchester has gone public with the UK’s love for the humble Rusk.

Betsy’s Sweet Corner

Betsy’s Sweet Corner, located in Middleton, has boomed in popularity since its opening at the start of this year, mainly thanks to its unique selection of vintage and traditional sweets.

But now, the shop is known for its fondness of Rusks, with owner Shona Brookes making delicious (and kind of nutritious) milkshakes out of them.

The drinks are made up of blended Rusks biscuits before being topped with a generous dollop of whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.

Also on the milkshake menu includes delicious flavours like Forerro Rocher and Toffee Popcorn.

And in addition to these tasty milkshakes, Betsy’s Sweet Corner is also serving up a Rusks-flavoured cheesecake with white chocolate, something that has proved to be a huge hit amongst customers.

Betsy’s Sweet Corner offers a whole of array of sweet treats, cakes and milkshakes, all of which can be pre-ordered for collection from their shop down Oldham Road in Middleton.
