A new ‘adults-only’ ice cream van will be serving the much-deserving people of Greater Manchester with boozy treats this summer.
Because it won’t be Great British Summer Time without copious amounts of booze and ice cream, will it?
A Few Scoops will be travelling across the region in a pink tuk tuk known as Jolene, or on a pink push-bike named Dolly in the coming months to serve up their unique frozen concoctions.
The menu features a whole array of cocktail-ice lolly hybrids, such as peach bellini and mojito sorbets and the Espresso Martini ice cream – freshly ground Sumatran coffee beans, coffee liqueur, and premium French grain vodka whipped up into, you guessed it, a wonderfully boozy ice cream.

For whisky fans, there’s also the Old Fashioned ice cream, a delicious – and somewhat intoxicating – treat made up of bourbon, angostura bitters and orange zest.
Yet while the offering is primarily geared towards frozen tipples, there are also non-alcoholic flavours on the menu, including childhood-inspired treats like the coke float ice cream and a cherryade sorbet.
A number of the flavours are vegan, too.
The brains behind the unique brand, Alanna Atkinson, spoke to the Manchester Evening News about the birth of A Few Scoops.

She explained: “When we started A Few Scoops [in 2019], we knew we didn’t want a standard ice cream van, we wanted something that was different that made everyone whip out their phones to take a photo.
“We think we’ve achieved this with Jolene.”
Over the bank holiday weekend, Jolene and Dolly flogged their boozy creations at the Stretford Foodhall, Stretford and the General Store MediaCity, Salford.
It has been confirmed that they will be at Stamford Quarter, Altrincham – a new community hub with al fresco seating, deckchairs and a flower wall – every Friday and Saturday from June 4th.
Further dates and locations are yet to be confirmed, but you can visit their Facebook page for more information.
