Popular Mancunian burger chain Archie’s is set to open three more restaurants this year, with one branch launching in the Trafford Centre. It’ll be located on the former La Tasca unit at the Orient food quarter, and will seat 250 when it opens in spring.
Before this happens, their long-awaited Piccadilly Approach site will open to the public next month after a two-year delay, the Manchester Evening News reports.
And the Trafford site isn’t going to be any old regular burger joint, as it’ll come complete with pink banana swings and a ball pit.
Imran Shezad from Archie’s said: “The Trafford Centre restaurant is going to be the flagship store, it will be really cool – very Instagrammable. We’ve taken the sites we have done previously and taken it to the next level. We’ve got a room with pink banana swings and a ball pit just for that.” The Manchester-based company is going from strength to strength as it celebrates its 10th anniversary, with three sites in Manchester city centre, ones in Liverpool and Birmingham, as well as plans to open restaurants in Manchester Airport and Leicester Square in London.
Just when you think it can’t get any better, they’re also thinking about opening some drive-thru locations. Imran said: “We’re going towards that direction now: shopping malls and areas where there’s big footfall in key locations like the airport and Leicester Square. If a drive-thru opportunity became available in Manchester we’d look at that too. We’d love to have a drive-thru in each city.” The Trafford Centre location will be opening sometime in March or April, so not long to wait, with the Piccadilly restaurant opening in the second week of February.
