After four years of standing derelict and unused, the former Artisan venue in Spinningfields is finally set for a new lease of life.

Brazilian-Japanese fusion restaurant Sakku Samba was recently launched by restauranteur Zack Isaak, who wanted to bring together his two existing brands, Estábulo and Sakku.

Estábulo is a Brazilian ‘rodizio-style’ restaurant with nine existing locations across the UK while Leeds-based restaurant Sakku offers unlimited sushi and Japanese dishes.

And now these two restaurants have been brought together as one, Isaak has a completely new concept of all-you-can-eat steak and sushi – and it’s coming to Manchester this summer.

Sakku Samba will be spread across two floors in The Avenue site, with a cocktail bar downstairs and a 300-cover restaurant on the top floor – similar to how Artisan formerly used the space.

Isaak also plans on building a VIP room with the capacity to hold eighty guests at a time, alongside two private dining rooms.

Speaking to Place North West, Isaak said of his new venture: “I wanted to bring something different to Manchester.

“The opportunity to launch a new concept in Spinningfields was too good to miss. I love the space and where it is.

“It has phenomenal character.”

Sakku Samba’s arrival marks an exciting time for restaurants in Spinningfields, with luxury Mayfair restaurant Sexy Fish set to open in the former Armani unit and Thai restaurant Giggling Squid poised to open in the vacant Carluccio’s space.

Sakku Samba is set to open in June. Make sure to follow the official Instagram page for news and updates.
