Gordon Ramsay reportedly has his sights set upon Manchester for the next location for his 1930s Japanese-inspired restaurant.
Lucky Cat, which first opened in London’s Mayfair back in 2019, is described as an ‘authentic Asian eating house and vibrant late-night lounge, inspired by the drinking dens of 1930s Tokyo and the far east’.
The menu is designed for sharing, with a range of small plates cooked on a Robata Grill, including spiced lamb chops, hand-dived scallops, dumplings, bao buns and tempura-fried dishes.
There is also a late night menu of sushi and skewers available until 1am, as well as Asian-inspired cocktails and an extensive menu of Japanese Sake.

And now, Lucky Cat is set to expand with a brand new restaurant here in Manchester.
This weekend, a licence application for a new Lucky Cat restaurant appeared on the Manchester City Council website, with Ramsay seemingly looking to take over the old HSBC Bank at the top of King Street – and the former home of fellow celebrity chef venture Jamie’s Italian.
The application includes plans for ‘trading on three floors’, indicating that the building’s famous Bank Vault will be in use once again, as well as the upper mezzanine balcony spaces above the former main banking floor.
The application also proposes opening hours from 9am to 2.30am seven days a week as well as a music license into the early hours, suggesting that the venue could also be a place for drinks and dancing as well as dining.
Staff at Loaf MCR couldn’t believe what they were seeing when the Hells Kitchen star strolled in with his team while on a break from filming.
According to Loaf MCR’s founder and owner Aiden Ryan, Gordon even opted for a slice of the Manchester Tart flavoured cake, which features the traditional flavours of custard, raspberry jam and coconut in honour of the iconic dessert.
