Manchester’s iconic Levenshulme Bakery is expanding its business with the birth of a brand new site in Stockport.
The shawarma and kebab spot has become city-renowned for serving arguably the best kebabs in the whole of Manchester – and perhaps the whole country.
The founding trio, Alonso, AJ and Zheko, all have Kurdish heritage and know the ins and outs of making authentic Samoon bread, falafel and quality doner meats.

Other popular menu additions include their Lebanese Fatayer, a Middle Eastern folded pizza/pie hybrid which is baked with a variety of vegetables and meat.
Their Lahmajun – a crispy Levantine flatbread topped with minced meat, vegetables and herbs – is also another menu highlight, and has become known fondly as the ‘Turkish Pizza’. It’s as good as it sounds.
The bakery’s overwhelming popularity can also be put down to its opening hours, which have enabled Mancunians to pick up a kebab as early as 10 o’clock in the morning (which is also when you can pick up their freshly baked goods).
Yep, it isn’t hailed as legendary for nothing.

So, in news that may not surprise anyone, the time has now come for Levenshulme Bakery to expand its business further afield… to Edgeley, to be precise.
Very little is known about the new Stockport restaurant, and all we know is that the new shop front reads ‘Leve Bakery Shawarma’ and that it’ll be open ‘soon’.
So whether it’ll have a different menu, whether it’ll operating a takeaway service or if it’ll also be dishing up kebabs at 10 o’clock in the morning, all will soon be revealed.
For now, give Levenshulme Bakery a follow on Facebook to stay posted with any news and updates.
