Northern Quarter cocktail bar Alvarium will be welcoming the famed Lazy Tony’s Lasagneria into its basement kitchen from next week.
Shortly after it was announced the bar’s resident vegan eatery Black Leaf would be bidding farewell to the kitchen it has called home, Alvarium bosses unveiled the next small business to be moving into the space.
Posting the announcement on social media, Alvarium said: “From Friday April 29th, we will be welcoming Lazy Tony’s Lasagneria into our restaurant downstairs.
“Lazy Tony’s are hyped for this opportunity and we’re excited to bring them in and see where we can take the Alvarium brand alongside their partnership.

“Although we will be sad to part ways with Black Leaf, our space has always been one which allows small brands to grow into their own.
“Lazy Tony’s started in lockdown and immediately gained a great following. Each section of their menu has both veggie and vegan options and they, like ourselves and Black Leaf, are focussed on becoming a concept that you know and love.
“We look forward to seeing what Black Leaf will become in the future, and what Lazy Tony’s Lasagneria have in store for us!”
Having started life in the midst of a national lockdown, Lazy Tony’s was quick to skyrocket to city-wide fame thanks to its homemade Italian offerings, such as lasagne slabs, giant mozzarella sticks and homemade tiramisu.

The lasagneria has operated out of various venues in its short life, including Foundation Coffee in the Northern Quarter and, most recently, out of a hatch down Ancoats’ Radium Street.
The menu has also expanded since its birth, and includes tasty additions like mac and cheese and vodka penne, as well as plenty of vegetarian and vegan options for plant-based diners.
