It’s finally happened: The humble Jaffa Cake has undergone a white chocolate makeover.

After years of requests from Jaffa Cake fans far and wide, McVitie’s has officially launched white chocolate Jaffa Cakes.

The famed biscuit brand announced the exciting news on social media today, sharing a teaser video of the revamped snack alongside the hashtag: “#JaffaDreamsDoComeTrue”.

The new version of these Jaffas will feature the same soft cakey base and marmalade jam but, this time, will be come with a sweet white chocolate coating instead of the usual dark chocolate.

However, Jaffa Cake fans shouldn’t be getting too excited about this announcement because, sadly, the unique cakes are only here for a limited time only.

There will only be forty packs of the white chocolate Jaffa Cakes on sale, with fans having to apply to get their hands on them via a competition that’ll be held on the McVitie’s Instagram page.

There, hopeful Jaffa fans will have to like McVitie’s competition post and tag the person they’d most like to share their pack of white chocolate Jaffa Cakes with.

People have until Monday May 2nd to enter, with winners being selected at random the following day on Tuesday May 3rd.

Head over to the official Jaffa Cake Instagram page to enter.

This exciting makeover comes after the huge success of the Jaffa Cake doughnuts, which were launched last year.

The experimental Jaffa variation consisted of a doughnut-shaped ring of sponge with the staple orange-flavoured filling, a dark chocolate coating and a simply ingenious name: Jaffa Jonuts.

Jaffa Cakes were first invented here in Manchester ninety-five years ago in 1927.
