People are making cheesy garlic crumpets and they look amazing

How have these not been made sooner?!

Is there anything in this world quite as tasty as the humble crumpet?

Yes: Cheesy, garlic and not-so-humble crumpets.

The latest food trend to descend upon social media is, you guessed it, cheese and garlic sodden crumpets baked in the oven until crispy. How did we not think of this sooner?

The best example of the new food trend is courtesy of TikTok food page, Food Made Simple – In their clip, their allocated chef takes five crumpets and cuts them into quarters before arranging them in a baking dish.

They then coat the crumpets in plenty of pre-melted garlic butter before adding a generous portion of grated cheese.

It’s important to note that you shouldn’t be stingy on the garlic and cheese portions – the more, the better. But you probably know that already.

From there, the crumpets are popped in the oven for ten minutes until golden brown and wonderfully oozy. (The temperature is unknown, but it can be assumed to be between 180-200C on fan.)

The crafty recipe was quick to go viral and has since had over 2 million views and thousands of comments.

The cheesy garlic crumpets proved to be a huge hit with the social media community, with one person commenting: “WE MUST DO THIS.” Meanwhile, another said: “Oh my I love garlic bread AND crumpets.”

And a third slightly more sceptical user added “Okay so at first I was like, no you can’t mess with crumpets but now I’m sat here knowing I have crumpets in the cupboard contemplating making this.”

Who else really fancies some cheesy crumpets now?
