A restaurant here in Manchester is offering a little solace to those unfortunate enough to have a January birthday with its unique ‘Birthday Bonus’ deal.
It’s no secret that January is one of the most depressing months of the year, what with the aftermath of Christmas, New Year’s and all the other boozy festivities December brings.
So, sadly for those born in January, people tend to have no money, no energy and absolutely no desire to celebrate any special occasions.

But January babies, fear not! Because a restaurant chain here in Manchester has swooped in to the rescue with its dining deal certain to cure those January Blues.
The Botanist – which has restaurants in Manchester City Centre, Media City, Didsbury, Alderley Edge, Warrington, and Chester – is giving those who choose to celebrate their January birthday at one of its restaurants the chance to ‘pay for the year you were born’.
The offer, which is only valid on the restaurant’s £30 set menu, means those with the January birthday and everyone else in the booking will only pay for the amount that corresponds to the year you were born.
Still a bit confused? Those who were born in 1994 would only pay £19.94, while those in 1982 would only pay £19.82, instead of the set £30 price.
The older you are, the cheaper your meal will be.

The offer means you’ll save around a third of the original price per person, which leaves absolutely no excuses to not get out and celebrate this month.
The set menu offer applies to both lunch and dinner sittings, and includes three courses plus a glass of wine, bottle of beer, or non-alcoholic mocktail.
Items on the menu include salt and pepper chicken wings, rump steak, and a number of vegan and vegetarian options.
A booking is required to redeem the ‘Birthday Bonus’ offer; you can view the menu and book at your nearest restaurant on The Botanist website here.
