Thaikhun, the overwhelmingly popular Thai restaurant nestled in the heart of Spinningfields, has opened a new all-you-can-eat street food buffet restaurant in The Trafford Centre.
Since opening the doors of its flagship restaurant in the elusive city centre spot in 2014, Thaikhun has gone from strength to strength and has gone on to open restaurants in 8 other cities including Oxford, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
But for its latest venture, the bosses at Thaikhun have decided to reel it back to where it all began and open a second Manchester venue at the iconic Trafford Centre.

Having opened its doors yesterday, The Trafford Centre Thaikhun offers a Thai street food buffet to shoppers with a daily-changing main menu offering Thai classics such as Pad Thai, Lamb Massaman and Khao Soi Gai soup, and a dessert station for guests to build their own Thai-style sweet treats.
And, much like the original restaurant in Spinningfields, the new 144-cover venue is decked out in authentic Thai decor, including those familiar tuk-tuk tables and boat seats.
The new restaurant has also partnered with food app Too Good to Go to combat food waste, meaning customers are able to pre-order and collect a ‘magic bag’ containing food that would have otherwise gone to waste.

Owner Kim Kaewkraikhot told the Manchester Evening News shortly before its opening: “At our first of its kind buffet restaurant, we will offer customers the freedom to make the experience their own by picking exactly what they want and in their own time.
“We are passionate about providing an excellent quality experience with a combination of top-class food and unrivalled customer service. Thaikhun means ‘Your Thai’ which mirrors the team’s aim to take guests on their very own journey across the world to the Khao San Road.
“Every recipe on the menu can be found at real Thai street vendors and it’s with these authentic touches that we aim to deliver a taste of Thailand to our customers, helping them fall in love with the cuisine, just like we have.

“Whilst the menu will consist of some firm favourites, we are excited to bring a new and exciting spin to Thai dining, with the opportunity for our guests to enjoy a variety of different dishes and flavours every time they visit.”
For adults, the all-you-can-eat buffet is priced at £15.95 between Mondays and Thursdays, and £17.95 between Fridays and Sundays. For children between the ages of four and eleven, it is a set price of £7.95, while children under the age of three get to dine for free.
