While many will agree that Stockport isn’t exactly known as Manchester’s Little Italy, there is one canal boat in particular serving up some wonderfully authentic Neapolitan treats.
Pizzas are served fresh through a hatch on the side of the boat, with Chris telling the Manchester Evening News last year: “It’s very small, it’s not a massive venue, but you’ll be able to sit and watch the kitchen in action.
“We’ve had people calling us wanting to book for thirty and it’s like, ‘not a chance!’

“We’d love to have some outside seating on the tow path if it works out well in warmer weather.”
The floating restaurant, which moves between Stockport and Cheshire on the Macclesfield Canal, has been on a brief hiatus this year but, last month, it was announced that it will be making its comeback just in time for the summer months.
Pizzas on the menu this spring range from a classic Margherita, Marinara, Pepperoni, and the Swagman, which comes topped with a delicious mix of spicy chorizo, n’duja, fresh chilli, hot honey and candied jalapeno.
There are also cakes and treats from Boaty Bakes, a North West-based small batch bakery specialising in muffins, brownies, cookies and cronuts.

And for dog walkers, the Waltzing Matilda offers a range of tasty dog treats, including Hare and Hen, Venison and Boar.
The unique boat is currently sat at High Lane on the Macclesfield canal and, unlike in its debut year riddled with Covid restrictions, guests are now welcome to sit inside the restaurant.
The Waltzing Matilda opens at 10:00am every Saturday and Sunday for coffee and bakes, while pizza is served a little bit later on from 2:30pm on Saturdays only.
It is advised to book a pizza slot in advance due to their high popularity – get yours booked here.
