Spoons is doing a massive sale on pints before the new national lockdown begins on Thursday, November 5th. Wetherspoons pre-lockdown clearance sale means you’ll be able to grab pints for just 99p, with the chain slashing prices as any excess booze will have to be poured away on Thursday.
Like other pubs, bars and restaurants, the chain will have to shut down until at least early December, when the lockdown is scheduled to end.

As such, Spoons is cutting prices at its pubs across the country until Wednesday to help use up all of its existing stock.
According to a company spokesperson, this means pints of real ale will be priced at 99p.
The spokesperson said: “All of our pubs in England will be serving real ales at 99p a pint until the pubs close on Wednesday night.
“The reality is any real ales not sold between now and lockdown will have to be thrown away, so it is better that customers can enjoy it at a great price while the pubs remain open.”

Spoons managed to avoid closure in Tier 3 areas like Greater Manchester as it was deemed to serve ‘substantial meals’, which was the condition on which pubs could remain open. According to the government, a substantial meal is ‘a main lunchtime or evening meal, and [pubs] may only serve alcohol as part of such a meal’.
