The huge dog cafe will be opening up in Greater Manchester and it even has a dog-friendly beach inside.

Alfie’s Island Cafe will take up a 22-acre site in Timperley and will welcome dog owners or simply those who love dogs!

It’s a new site from the owners of the former Central Bark Cafe, who are hoping to transform Manor Farm into a community hub for both humans and their pooches.

It will be decorated similarly to the old site with a tropical-inspired theme, complete with deck chairs, parasols and even a dog-friendly beach.

Owners Tony and Tania Golden are also working with the Starlight Barking Trust which will bring stray dogs over from Greece to help them find their forever home here in the UK.

The site is named after their own golden retriever, Alfie, who was also rescued from Greece.

The new site is much bigger than their original one and will provide 120 covers thanks to an outside dining area. They’ve also got a private room for special occasions!

The menu will have hot dogs, burgers and seafood, as well as American pancakes and a dedicated kids’ menu.

The focus for the couple is to create a stress-free space for dogs who are visiting and staying over as part of their day care offering. Dogs will stay over for a cage-free night to help them relax.

Tony said: “The dogs get a chance to play outside if they want to, they can play together and sleep together. We do really look at things from a scientific side – it’s not just about making a play area that looks pretty.

“A lot of dogs will freak out in a kind of warehouse setting, it can mess with their personality. They’re so much happier here.

“It’s a very big space with a lot of flexibility, and that’s what we love about it.”

Their aim is to open Alfie’s Island Cafe in mid-July, but they are currently waiting for clearer guidance from the government.

Tony added: “The last thing we want it so to get things up and running and then have to close it down again. We’ve got a few loose ends to tie up but we’re pretty much ready to go. We’re really looking forward to it.

“A lot of people need this – they need that feel-good factor and to get away from all the torment in the world at the minute.”
