It’s believed he might have made his way on to the large Reddish Vale Country Park which neighbours the farm.

Members of the public are advised not to approach the meerkat if they spot him.

Reddish Vale Farm posted to their Facebook, saying: “One of our meerkats has escaped overnight. We believe he may have made his way on to Reddish Vale Country Park.

“If you spot him please do not approach. Our meerkats are very friendly but can bite if feeling threatened. Please call 0161 480 1645 or 07852254933.

“Please share so we can get him back home safe.”
