Hmmm….

A mysterious door has appeared on a Manchester city centre street, raising a lot of questions about what is going on.

Over the past couple of weeks people walking through the Northern Quarter – including us – have been intrigued by the little garden outside Chapter One Books on Dale Street.

It looks that they’re building something – but no one seems to know what it is going on.

Our good friends over at Manchester’s Finest even asked them on Instagram what’s going on, in a bid to get to the bottom of it – but all they got back was a ‘Wait and see’ reply.

Well, earlier this week a door was erected – and it’s peaked our interest even further.

Finest even went so far as to stick a phone over the top of the barriers to see what’s going on, with a photo revealing loads of wood, a few builders and what looks like a row of sheds or huts – which could potentially be used to serve some sort of food or drink.

What it looks like is that this is set to be the NQ’s newest terrace or garden, but other than that we’re in the dark as to what to expect.

Could it be a Christmas market, or maybe a new beer garden for next summer?

There were rumours of the space being turned into a garden, complete with seating for 80 people, a children’s play area, and a Victorian-style glasshouse, so maybe we’re seeing some version of this.

Keep your eyes peeled folks…
