In case you missed it, the skies over the UK were lit up by some mysterious, bright lights last night.

The mystery trail was seen across the country, and while some people were convinced they were UFOs, they were in fact part of a satellite formation called Starlink.

Starlink is the brainchild of Elon Musk and SpaceX, and the satellites are being launched into the sky to provide internet to remote areas of the planet.

If you missed them last night, they’ll be over our skies for the next few days, so make sure you look up tonight to see the thousands of tiny satellites flying in a straight line.

SpaceX has been given permission to fly 12,000 satellites, but that number could rise to 30,000, meaning these Starlink trails could become a more common sight in the future.

There’s even a website that lets you know when you can see them where you are, with estimated times for the flyover and how visible they will be.

Here are the dates and times for Manchester over the next few days:

Monday April 20th

9.58pm: Starlink-5,6 (Bright) – Visible for six minutes.

Tuesday April 21st

3.30am: Starlink 3 (Bright) – Visible for two minutes.

5.02am: Starlink 3 (Bright) – Visible for six minutes.

10.34pm: Starlink-5,6 (Bright) – Visible or six minutes.

Wednesday April 22nd

4.04am: Starlink 3 (Bright) – Visible for four minutes.

9.34pm: Starlink-5,6 (Bright) – Visible for six minutes.

11.10pm: Starlink-5,6 (Bright) – Visible for six minutes.

You can head over to the website here for more details and further dates – the times do seem to change so it’s best to double-check on there.
