While the details of the new addition currently remain shrouded in secrecy, the theme park has revealed the ride will replace the iconic Grand Prix – which has featured at the park for over 60 years – and promises to take guests on an experience to unprecedented heights.

The Grand Prix ride opened in 1960 and was formerly called the Turnpike. Its racing cars were previously petrol powered until being converted in 2002 to the electric ones seen today.

The move follows a strategic ride review carried out by the Pleasure Beach and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the seaside resort.

The new attraction will join the likes of ICON, Big One and Valhalla as some of the biggest attractions at the Lancashire park. More information about the ride will be revealed in due course.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach opened its gates to visitors on Saturday, March 2nd as it looks forward to a season of thrills, and fun for all the family.
