Body found in search for missing man, 26, from Stockport

A body has been found in the search for a missing 26-year-old from Stockport, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed.

The man, known only as Charlie, was last seen in the Cheadle Hulme area of Stockport at 11.30pm on Thursday, September 21st.

The force launched a public appeal to help find him, saying they wanted to make sure he was ‘safe and well’. 

However, officers have issued an update to confirm they have sadly, found a body in the search for Charlie.

His next of kin have been made aware and a file has now been passed on to the coroner.

Detective Inspector Michael Jimenez, from GMP, said: “Our thoughts remain with Charlie’s family at this difficult time, and we have specialist officers in place to support them.

“Thank you to those who shared our appeals.”

No further details have been released at this stage.
