Boots is temporarily shutting down 60 of its stores across the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to them, this is because some of their stores have seen a lack of footfall because of the lockdown measures.

Branches in airports, train stations and city centres have been hardest hit.

A first wave of stores closed in London on Easter Friday, April 10th, with the second lot from around the country closing this week.

These stores, including some in Greater Manchester, will be shut by Wednesday April 15th, with pharmacists moving to busier nearby Boots stores.

A statement from Boots said: “We need to make sure that we have enough colleagues playing their vital role where it’s currently most needed and that we can send home those colleagues who are working in stores that are not busy.

“To achieve this, we are temporarily closing a small number of stores that are very quiet at this time.”
