A British dad has tragically died while on holiday in Magaluf after getting into an altercation with police and bouncers.

Tobias White-Sansom, from Nottingham, had been enjoying a night out on the strip in Magaluf with his brother and friends on July 25th.

According to his older brother, business owner Maximillan White, Tobias went back into the Boomerang nightclub to retrieve his t-shirt, only to be told his belongings had been put away.

However, as the thirty-five-year-old stood at the bar with his girlfriend, security guards allegedly ‘grabbed him from behind’ and handcuffed him before removing him from the club.

Outside the club, Tobias was allegedly beaten up by bouncers before being knelt on by eight police officers who arrived at the scene shortly afterwards.

Maximillian said his brother was given two tranquillisers which gave him a heart attack. He told The Independent: “The videos show that they handcuffed him, beat him, took him to another area and beat him again.

“He was given two tranquillisers and they gave him a heart attack. On arrival at the hospital, the police told them it was an overdose so they didn’t treat him properly.

“Eight of them sat on him for thirty minutes and he had two heart attacks in the street. This is not a death, it is torture.”

He added: “If my brother hadn’t been accosted in such a brutish way and if the police hadn’t behaved with such brutality, he would have been home.”

Tobias was admitted to intensive care following the incident and placed into an induced coma. However, his family made the decision to turn off his life-support after doctors said he was brain-dead.

Maximillian said he feels he has ‘let the family down’ following his brother’s death, and is now calling for a full inquiry into the circumstances of his death.

The full family said in a statement: “We are stricken with grief at the tragic and sudden loss of Tobias – beloved son, brother, father, uncle and friend.

“Tobias’ family will ensure that a full and thorough independent investigation is carried out into the circumstances of his death.

“Legal actions will be brought in Spain and in the UK. Those responsible for his injuries will be held to account. The police and medical practitioners will be asked for full transparency. No effort will be spared in achieving justice for Tobias. We thank you for all of your support.”

Police in Spain have since responded to the incident, saying they were called to reports of an assault on a nightclub bouncer. A spokesperson said: “Guardia Civil can confirm there is research ongoing about the facts.

“Guardia Civil received an emergency call about a physical assault with a header by an intoxicated person to the nightclub bouncer.

“Upon the arrival of the Guardia Civil police, this man was violent and police reduced him to be assisted by medical services. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. There, once while he was being assisted, he was arrested for a crime of injury.”

In a statement, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Mallorca and are in contact with the local authorities.”

Greater Manchester Police

Two men have now been charged with murder, following the discovery of a human torso in Kersal Dale.

As well as that, more suspected human remains were also discovered this morning, Monday April 29th, in an alleyway close to the railway lines off Worsley Road, Eccles.

This follows earlier discoveries of human remains over the past three weeks, at Kersal Dale, Blackleach Reservoir and Colliery Wood, all in Salford.

Greater Manchester Police

Michal Jaroslaw Polchowski (25/04/1956) and Marcin Majerkiewicz (10/04/1982) both of Worsley Road, Eccles, have been charged with murder.

They are set to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court this afternoon.

While formal identification is still ongoing, the remains found at Kersal Dale are believed to be of a local man in his 60s. The remains found at the other three locations are still to be tested, but police are confident they belong to the same victim.

ACC Sarah Jackson said: “We have had large numbers of officers, staff and specialists working diligently on this investigation over the last three weeks. It has been very much a large, collective effort, with the victim and family at the heart of it from the outset.

“We have specially trained officers deployed to support the family as they come to terms with this tragic news. They are aware of this morning’s further discovery and will continue to be kept up to date with how we are progressing.

“Despite the charges brought today, our work is far from over.

“The scenes we already have established in Bury and Salford will remain in place for much of this week whilst our searches and enquiries continue. Local officers will continue to patrol the impacted areas to provide reassurance.

“We will continue following every line of enquiry to recover and reunite the victim with his family, bringing a dignified end to this terrible scenario.

“I’d like to thank the communities of Salford and beyond for their cooperation throughout this investigation. I know this incident has come as a shock, and the support we’ve had from those in the area is very much appreciated.”
