Crowds flocked to beauty spots and beaches across the country yesterday

Pictures from across England have surfaced following the Bank Holiday weekend, showing crowds flocking to beauty spots up and down the country. 

As part of the government’s lockdown easing, the public has been allowed unlimited time outside including visiting beauty spots such as parks and beaches. 

Unfortunately, due to the weekend’s heatwave, people rushed to beauty spots and public places leaving them with massive queues and crowds of people.

Police officers have urged people to use common sense as crowds of sun-seekers flocked to beauty spots for walks and sunbathing this hot Bank Holiday Monday.

Pictures and videos of Dovestone Reservoir have also surfaced. Officials shut the car park over the weekend which lead to huge lines of cars parked unsafely on the roads. 

Many people have expressed concerns of a ‘second wave’ due to the crowds at such places this weekend. 

Elsewhere in the country, many people headed to beaches including Blackpool, Merseyside and a very busy Brighton. 

One Twitter user said: “You’d think lockdown was over with the amount of people in Southport today!”

There have also been concerns about the litter left behind following the bank holiday, with many people sharing images of Formby beach this morning showing piles of rubbish on the hills. 

There have also been reports of huge crowds in National Parks such as the Yorkshire Dales, with large stretches of traffic surrounding the Dales, as well as crowds of people in Windsor Castle grounds down south. 

New cases of coronavirus have fallen nationally since the peak on May 1st, but some specific locations such as Somerset hospitals had to close this weekend due to a high number of patients.

Weston General Hospital in Weston-Super-Mare stopped accepting new admissions on Monday too.
