A major road in the city centre has come to a standstill as a climate change protest has stopped traffic from getting through.
Rush hour traffic is being halted by the group, who are wearing orange overalls to stop drivers on Great Ancoats Street.
The protestors, believed to be from Extinction Rebellion, have set up some kind of wooden construct in the middle of the road near the Central Retail Park, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Other members of the group are holding up banners.
Extinction Rebellion, the group behind the closure of Deansgate earlier this year, are also holding a number of other protests around the country.
If you plan on driving in the area, the advice is to find alternate routes – Stagecoach and Megabus bus services are also being affected.
