In case you were blissfully unaware, this coming weekend is Easter, and as such most of us (sorry hospitality, retail, NHS and other key workers) have four days off work.

As is tradition in the run up to a big event like this, the Great British monitoring of the weather is well and truly under way.

And we’ve got some very good news for you, as temperatures are set to soar and the sun is set to shine over Greater Manchester this weekend.

Start making some outdoor-based plans, dust off the barbecue or head to the nearest beer garden as it’s going to be a scorcher (well, warmer than it has been).

Temperatures in our region are forecast to hit highs of 20C on both Saturday and Sunday, according to Weather.com.

This nice weather will continue into Easter Monday, which will remain dry and partly cloudy with highs of 19C.

The BBC has a similar forecast, and according to them Friday, Saturday and Sunday are set for highs of 18C, while Monday will see highs of 17C, and plenty of sunshine on each day.

The weather isn’t looking too great leading up to the weekend, with wet weather and lower temperatures until we reach Good Friday – which will make the weekend feel even better.

What are your plans for the Easter weekend?
