While it seems like 2020 has been nothing but bad news, Greggs has shone a bit of light through the gloom with its most recent announcement.

The king of sausage rolls has confirmed that its stores will remain open during the new national lockdown, so you can still grab your steak bake fix.

From tomorrow, Thursday November 5th, England will enter into a new national lockdown for four-weeks.

Most businesses, including gyms, pubs and hairdressers, will have to close – you can see the full list of where can and can’t stay open here – but places selling food and other ‘essential’ items can remain open.

Greggs revealed it will be staying open across the UK during lockdown, offering takeaway, click and collect and delivery on its delicious baked goods.

The popular bakery chain wrote on social media: “In light of the latest government announcement, Greggs shops across the UK will stay open for takeaway, click and collect and delivery.

“If you’re visiting a shop, please remember to follow our social distancing measures and respect our amazing, hard-working shop teams.”

In other good news, the company also took to social media yesterday to remind us that the iconic Festive Bake will be hitting stores from tomorrow as well.

This is good news for Festive Bake fans who were worried about the bake’s release coinciding with the new lockdown.
