Hairy Bikers’ Dave Myers delights fans as he shares cancer update on This Morning.

Dave appeared alongside his co-star Si King on This Morning’s lunchtime segment on Wednesday April 26th, much to fans’ delight.

The last time Si appeared on the ITV daytime show he was cooking solo while Dave was undergoing treatment for cancer.

The biker turned chef, 65,  revealed in May last year that he was having chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer — though it has not been specified where the cancer is.

The friends make up the much-loved TV cooking duo The Hairy Bikers, where they first found fame on the show in 2006.

Dave revealed the news of his diagnosis on an episode of their Agony Uncles podcast where he said he didn’t want to ‘hide under a rock’, but said he would be away from work and asked fans to ‘respect his privacy’ as he underwent treatment.

Speaking on Tommy Banks’ Seasoned Podcast last month, Dave said how he hoped to return to filming, and said although he is still receiving chemotherapy for cancer, there are multiple projects going on for the Hairy Bikers.

On the ITV morning programme, he and Si cooked up a treat in the studio kitchen for hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Before they kicked off the cooking, Phillip asked: “Before we start, how are you?” which left Dave with a beaming smile.

He admitted: “I’m doing very well and it’s so nice to be back, Phil. It’s a work in progress and I’ve got my hair back and doing well.” Phillip reiterated their pleasure of having him on the show and added: “It’s really lovely to have you back.”

As the pair got on with cooking, Phillip asked: “What are you making for us?” to which Dave replied: “Well it’s very healthy. It’s lamb kofta kebab, served with a wholemeal couscous salad with a lemon and tahini dressing.”

“That’s the bit I’m really excited about,” Holly said. “Half of it is the main event, but the other half — and possibly more important — is what you dunk it in. Dave then quipped: “Well, like you and Phil, when you come together as a whole, it’s far better isn’t it!”

As the pair got into full flow, Si thanked Dave for already having prepared the sauce for their recipe, saying: “So glad you are back!” as Dave laughed: “I am so glad to be back, it’s like coming home.”

This Morning viewers and fans of the cookery pair quickly took to social media to express how happy they were to see Dave back on TV screens alongside Si, and the duo doing what they do best.

@BakesByYves tweeted: “Awww #thehairybikers do love each other glad to see Dave looking well and hair growing back #tvchef #ThisMorning #itv1.”

@Ophelia_ButtsUK said: “Nice to see Dave Myers looking well after his cancer battle #ThisMorning.” @mostlystupid shared: “Glad to see Dave back – hope he’s doing well #hairybikers #ThisMorning.” @Borisnose2 added: “Great to see him looking so well! #thismorning.”

Greater Manchester Police

Two men have now been charged with murder, following the discovery of a human torso in Kersal Dale.

As well as that, more suspected human remains were also discovered this morning, Monday April 29th, in an alleyway close to the railway lines off Worsley Road, Eccles.

This follows earlier discoveries of human remains over the past three weeks, at Kersal Dale, Blackleach Reservoir and Colliery Wood, all in Salford.

Greater Manchester Police

Michal Jaroslaw Polchowski (25/04/1956) and Marcin Majerkiewicz (10/04/1982) both of Worsley Road, Eccles, have been charged with murder.

They are set to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court this afternoon.

While formal identification is still ongoing, the remains found at Kersal Dale are believed to be of a local man in his 60s. The remains found at the other three locations are still to be tested, but police are confident they belong to the same victim.

ACC Sarah Jackson said: “We have had large numbers of officers, staff and specialists working diligently on this investigation over the last three weeks. It has been very much a large, collective effort, with the victim and family at the heart of it from the outset.

“We have specially trained officers deployed to support the family as they come to terms with this tragic news. They are aware of this morning’s further discovery and will continue to be kept up to date with how we are progressing.

“Despite the charges brought today, our work is far from over.

“The scenes we already have established in Bury and Salford will remain in place for much of this week whilst our searches and enquiries continue. Local officers will continue to patrol the impacted areas to provide reassurance.

“We will continue following every line of enquiry to recover and reunite the victim with his family, bringing a dignified end to this terrible scenario.

“I’d like to thank the communities of Salford and beyond for their cooperation throughout this investigation. I know this incident has come as a shock, and the support we’ve had from those in the area is very much appreciated.”
