Officers were called to a house party in Darwen this weekend, and gave the owners a hefty £10,000 fine for breaking Covid-19 restrictions.
Police were called to Naples Road in Darwen following reports of a huge gathering of 50 people inside one home.
Over the weekend officers were called to several other reports of breaches of the restrictions in homes and businesses.
A police spokesman said: “During a busy weekend across the county, we’ve attended a number of reports of COVID regulation breaches at businesses and residential addresses.
“In response to one of these reports, in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, September 6th), we attended a house on Naples Road in Darwen. When we arrived, we found a significant house party with around 50 people present and DJ equipment.
“As a result, we have taken enforcement action and issued a £10,000 fixed penalty notice to the organiser.
“Lancashire remains in the midst of a pandemic and we will take action and enforce the regulations where necessary, particularly those around gatherings of more than 30 people. This is to protect your health and the health of our communities across the county.”
