I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here South Africa winner, Myleene Klass has revealed she has donated her £100k prize money to a charity close to her heart.
The singer took to her Instagram account on Monday to reveal she donated the £100,000 prize money to charity Save the Children.
Viewers watched on as the 45-year-old was crowned the first ever I’m A Celeb legend last week as she was handed a cheque for £100,000.
Shortly after her victory on the ITV 2023 all-stars series – having been the runner-up in 2006 – the musician revealed that she had plans for her prize money to go to a charity that’s very close to her heart.
Myleene, who is an ambassador for the charity, took to her Instagram on Monday to share a compilation video of photos of her spending time with children all over the world while working with the charity, Save the Children UK.
The organisation supports children in more than 100 countries around the globe. The former Hear’Say member said eating ‘rotten tofu’ and ‘mouse tails’ on the show was all worth it.
In a caption alongside the video she wrote: “I am proud to donate my @imacelebrity Prize money of £100,000.00 to @savechildrenuk.
“I’ve been an ambassador for 11 years in which time I’ve travelled the globe helping STC. The things I have seen will stay with me forever.”
Mylene shared some memories of the time she’s spent working alongside the charity, including seeing ‘children in the Philippines playing by the ships that have run aground from the Tsunami so they can be next to their parents that lay crushed beneath them’.
She recalled ‘teaching rescued child brides in Tanzania’ and ‘holding a mum in Nepal’ as she showed her where she thought her baby was buried after they died of pneumonia.
The mother was unable to leave the hospital as she couldn’t pay the three-month medical bill for £4.
Giving medical equipment to a midwife who solely delivered 2000 babies by the light of one torch that she holds in her teeth. When the batteries go, they just wait till they can afford and source another.
Myleene said that a decade ago, she was involved in the launch of the first ever Christmas Jumper Day, an event that continues to take place annually, adding: “ To see what it has grown to is amazing.”
She continued: “I have visited so many countries, met so many people but the message I take back each and every time is that we are all the same.
“We all just want the best for our children and due to luck and circumstance of birth, it’s not always something a child gets.
“My girls have always helped me pack balloons, sweets, stickers and nail polish for the children I go to.They themselves are now mini ambassadors.
“I’ve seen for myself, this money will go far. The mouse tails and rotten tofu were worth it.”
Save the Children wrote back: “Our #legend for the past 11 years. Thank you so much for what you’ve done and are going to do for children. This money is an incredible gift which will support so many families.”
Save the Children was founded in the UK in 1919, with the goal of helping improve the lives of children worldwide.
After years of will-they-won’t-they speculation, Oasis are officially BACK together for a reunion tour. The Gallagher brothers have put aside their differences in the name of music, making thousands of fans extremely happy in the process.
The band teased the news on their socials over the weekend, posting a video on Sunday morning with today’s date (Tuesday, August 27th) and the time 8am.
The legendary Mancunian rockers will take to the stage next summer, with gigs in Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, Dublin and, of course, Manchester.
15 years after splitting, the band confirmed they would be back for 14 shows, saying: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised”.
The gigs will be Oasis’s ‘only shows in Europe next year’, with tickets on sale this Saturday at 8am in Ireland and 9am in the UK.

Two men have now been charged with murder, following the discovery of a human torso in Kersal Dale.
As well as that, more suspected human remains were also discovered this morning, Monday April 29th, in an alleyway close to the railway lines off Worsley Road, Eccles.
This follows earlier discoveries of human remains over the past three weeks, at Kersal Dale, Blackleach Reservoir and Colliery Wood, all in Salford.
Greater Manchester Police
Michal Jaroslaw Polchowski (25/04/1956) and Marcin Majerkiewicz (10/04/1982) both of Worsley Road, Eccles, have been charged with murder.
They are set to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court this afternoon.
While formal identification is still ongoing, the remains found at Kersal Dale are believed to be of a local man in his 60s. The remains found at the other three locations are still to be tested, but police are confident they belong to the same victim.
ACC Sarah Jackson said: “We have had large numbers of officers, staff and specialists working diligently on this investigation over the last three weeks. It has been very much a large, collective effort, with the victim and family at the heart of it from the outset.
“We have specially trained officers deployed to support the family as they come to terms with this tragic news. They are aware of this morning’s further discovery and will continue to be kept up to date with how we are progressing.
“Despite the charges brought today, our work is far from over.
“The scenes we already have established in Bury and Salford will remain in place for much of this week whilst our searches and enquiries continue. Local officers will continue to patrol the impacted areas to provide reassurance.
“We will continue following every line of enquiry to recover and reunite the victim with his family, bringing a dignified end to this terrible scenario.
“I’d like to thank the communities of Salford and beyond for their cooperation throughout this investigation. I know this incident has come as a shock, and the support we’ve had from those in the area is very much appreciated.”
