A man has been arrested following reports he was seen on social media dressing as the Manchester Arena bomber.
It is understood pictures appeared online showing the man wearing a headdress and T-shirt which displayed the words ‘I love Ariana Grande’ on it, as well as a backpack with the words ‘boom’ and ‘TNT’ written on them.
North Yorkshire Police said it had ‘received complaints of a man wearing an offensive costume’ depicting murderer Salman Abedi.
The force said it arrested a man, on November 1st, ‘on suspicion of a number of offences including using a public communication network to send offensive messages’.
North Yorkshire Police said in a statement: “The man was arrested on 1 November on suspicion of a number of offences including using a public communication network to send offensive messages.
“He remains in police custody for questioning at this time.”
The man has since been released on conditional police bail.
Abedi detonated a bomb at an Arianna Grande concert in a suicide attack on May 22nd, 2017.
He was responsible for killing 22 people, including seven children.
