A man tragically died after falling from a bridge over the M62 on Easter Monday.

All emergency services, including an air ambulance, dashed to the motorway between junctions 23 and 24 at around 6.15pm on April 1st, West Yorkshire Police has confirmed.

The M62 was closed for almost two hours in both directions as crews attended to the incident.

Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

A spokesperson for the force said yesterday: “At 6.15pm [Monday], police received reports that a male had fallen from a bridge over the M62 between junctions 23 and 24.

“Emergency services attended and found the male, who was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the Coroner.”
