Manchester’s iconic underground tiki dive bar, The Liars Club, has announced it will sadly be closing its doors after 12 years of being a much-loved part of the city’s night-life.
The late night basement tiki bar, located on Bridge Street confirmed the sad news today, (December 14th), and said it will be closing its doors at the end of the year.
Its owners, The Liars Group, run by hospitality operators Ross Mackenzie, Jobe Ferguson and Lyndon Higginson, also own popular Manchester venues including the pizza parlour Crazy Pedros, and Cane & Grain.
“And so, we come with news that The Liars Club will be closing after twelve years of Tiki, as of the 31st December,” they said in an announcement on Instagram.
“She’s had one hell of an innings – hundreds of thousands of zombies, tonnes and tonnes of cinnamon and many a hangover inflicted.”
The owners say ‘the team are being relocated to sites within the group and employment remains guaranteed’.
They also confirmed that it will be used as a private hire venue in the future, but will no longer be a walk-in bar.
“Come and join us for a zombie, or two, over the next couple of weeks and one hell of a NYE party at the end of it to send her off in style,” they added.
