The coronavirus pandemic has brought out the best in some people, with acts of kindness restoring your faith in humanity. One of these acts of kindness comes from Manchester’s very own Street Cars, who are offering to help out those who are self-isolating and the over 65s. The taxi company has announced they’ll be doing free shopping deliveries for anyone over the age of 65 who is struggling to get out.
They’re also offering the pickup and drop-off service for anyone who is self-isolating or in quarantine. They wrote on Facebook: “We at StreetCars are fully committed to looking after the community in this difficult time with the spread of COVID-19.
“No doubt you have seen pictures on social media with vulnerable Elderly unable to grab essentials because of the panic buying and empty shelves all over the country.
“The above is quite heart-breaking so we at StreetCars are willing to do shopping pickups and drops for anyone self isolating or in quarantine AND will do this for FREE to anyone over 65! Just call our normal phone lines and mention the above!
“If there is anything else we can do to help please let us know!”
