McDonald’s is set to welcome customers back into its branches for the first time since the chain closed due to the lockdown.
The fast-food chain has opened all its drive-thrus already, and they have been absolutely rammed ever since.
Although you can’t dine in just yet, the latest news from Ronald means that people will be allowed back inside to order and collect in person in 11 service station branches from tomorrow, Wednesday June 17th.
The walk-in service will then be rolled out across the country from next Wednesday, June 24th.
Anybody visiting inside to collect or order will have to follow strict new measures including sanitising hands on arrival at the new designated cleaning stations.
There will also be a one-way system with spacing measures put in place on the floor with marking stickers.
Like in many places, there will be a cap on the number of people allowed into the restaurant but this will vary depending on the size of the restaurant.
McDonald’s has asked that one person per household goes inside stores to collect but children are allowed if necessary. The play areas and digital play screens will be shut off and no crayons or colouring sheets will be available.
Toilets, lifts and seating areas will remain closed, as will any recycling stations – McDonald’s are asking people to take their rubbish home with them. Protective screens will also be in place.
The touch screen ordering stations will be open and being sanitised every 30 minutes. You can also use the McDonald’s app to order in advance.
The reduced menu will still be in place and customers are set to still be capped at orders of £25. Customers are also being asked to use contactless payment methods.
McDonald’s will be rolling this out across the country from June 24th, along with offering their breakfast menu for the first time since lockdown began.
