McDonald’s has announced they are reopening 700 of their restaurants with table service from tomorrow.
It’s amazing news for Maccies lovers who have yet to have one as they’ve only been open for drive-thrus!
From July 15th, four McDonald’s chains opened their stores for eat-in services as part of a trial but now the pilot scheme will be rolled out across the country.
As part of the government guidelines, anyone who decides to eat-in will have to leave contact details so they can be contacted in case of a coronavirus outbreak.
Customers can fill out their personal information through their phones or by scanning a QR code that takes them to a web page directly.
Only one person in each group dining will have to leave their details but they will have to specify how many people are within their group and the time and date of their visit.
Social distancing measures will be put in place including one way systems, floor markers and fewer people working at one time. There will also be the addition of hand sanitiser stations.
The self-order screens are set to be sanitised every 30 minutes and till points will be behind a perspex screen. Customers are encouraged to pay with card.
Last week, McDonald’s vowed to pass on the VAT cuts onto customers in the form of cheaper prices.
Some of the 700 restaurants are also participating in the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme which will see diners get up to £10 off their bill per person.
