While the majority of the country is taking the government’s self-isolation and social distancing guidelines seriously, some are not.

This was on show over the weekend, with the good weather we experienced seeing parks across the country full of social gatherings and people sunbathing.

According to a recent survey, more than a quarter of people in the UK are not self-isolating or practicing social distancing.

The OnePoll survey found that 27% of people are still in contact with people outside of their home, with the research asking 2,000 adults about their habits.

A third of those who are not self-isolating said it’s because they are an essential worker, while 54% said they were not following the guidelines for ‘other reasons’

As for the people who are distancing themselves, 14% thought they’d had coronavirus already and have now recovered, while 6% thought they currently had COVID-19.

For the people who believed they had the virus, 52% reported tiredness and lethargy as the most common symptoms, 47% reported aches and pains, with the same percentage again reporting a cough.

Four out of ten people said they had a high temperature, 31% had trouble breathing, and 26% reported losing their sense of smell or taste (or sometimes both).
