The mother of a Manchester Arena survivor who was found dead last month has said she was ‘so proud to have had her in my life.’
Eve Aston, who was in attendance at the fateful Ariana Grande concert on May 22nd, 2017, was found dead in her home in Wolverhampton last month after a lengthy battle with PTSD.
The twenty-year-old was unable to be saved by paramedics after she was discovered lifeless by her father Andrew Aston on July 23rd.

Her heartbroken parents said that despite her struggles with PTSD, she had been ‘getting back to her old self’ in the weeks leading up to her death. Mrs. Aston told the BBC: “I’m heartbroken, I can’t believe it’s happened.”
Although physically uninjured, her family said Eve bore mental scars from the night.
“She wasn’t sleeping, she kept seeing images in her head,” Mrs. Aston said, adding that while her daughter was able to get help, the family was generally left ‘really disappointed’ in the lack of support made available.
Her mother said: “She was a wonderful person, so precious. I’m so proud to have had her in my life.”

AGoFundMe page has since been set up to raise money for Eve’s funeral costs with a target of raising £4,500 – though, at the time of writing, it has completely surpassed the goal and stands at over £8,000.
On the page, her mother wrote: “Eve was one of a kind. Loud, funny, beautiful and caring does not even cover a tiny percentage of the person she was. Everywhere she was there was light in the room, she was that light, she would make her presence known with such a warm welcoming feeling.
“Everyone that she knew would always be put before herself, she was such a selfless person everyone’s feelings came before her own.”
