Northern Quarter institution Black Dog Ballroom has sadly announced it has closed its doors.
The trendy haunt offering cocktails and modern Asian cuisine, located within the iconic Afflecks, has been seen with boards covering its entrance.
After some speculation, the bar has now officially confirmed its full closure, with a message on its website reading: “Black Dog Ballroom is now closed.”
The bar, which opened in 2009, was a go-to party venue and was known for its popular dance floor, ‘NYC-style’ bar and pool tables.
Its food and drinks menu offered regular happy hour deals and was frequented by many party-goers, as it became an integral part of Manchester’s nightlife.
While the news of its closure hasn’t been shared across Black Dog’s social media pages, Smash and Dash burger – the venue’s kitchen residents – have announced it will be moving to sister venue Dog Bowl, which remains open.
The last post Black Dog Ballroom shared to its social media was made three weeks ago in the busy run up to Christmas and encouraged customers to take advantage of its happy hour.
It read: “Give yourself some respite from the worst place on earth (Market Street) and pop in for some food and drinks.”
