Some people in Greater Manchester could be entitled to a ‘Cold Weather Payment’.
Those receiving pension credit, income support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, income-related Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit could be eligible to receive a Cold Weather Payment.
A Cold Weather Payment occurs when the average temperature of your area is recorded as or forecast to be zero degrees Celsius or below for seven consecutive days.
You could be entitled to £25 for each seven day period of cold weather that occurs in your area between November 1st 2020 and March 31st 2021.
There has been plenty of snow over the last few weeks and the Met Office is warning more ice and snowfall in the region.
There are a number of postcodes where the payments have kicked in including; M1, M12, M13 M2, M22, M23, M26, M34, M35, M38, M41, M43, M7M M8, M9, SK1, SK6, WA13, WA3, WN3, WN5.
