Police confirm body found in river is man reported missing last week

Officers confirm they have found a body in a river in Bolton in the search for Craig Hodkinson, who was reported missing last week.

Craig Hodkinson, 33, was last seen on Churchgate in Bolton at around 5am on Wednesday, September 13th.

Greater Manchester Police launched an investigation, making a number of public appeals to help trace him.

On Sunday, September 17th at around 4.40pm, four days after his disappearance, officers confirmed they found a body in the River Croal, in Bolton.

After a formal identification, the force confirmed it to be the body of Mr Hodkinson. His next of kin have now been informed.

Detective Inspector Lee Gridley said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Hodkinson’s loved ones at this very difficult time, we would also like to thank members of the public who helped with our investigation by sharing our online appeals.”
