A teenage boy is in hospital after being hit by a police vehicle this morning.
The 16-year-old was struck on a main road through Bolton at around 7am today, Friday October 6th.
A police cordon remains in place on St Helens Road following the serious crash, with Greater Manchester Police confirming they were responding to a serious incident.
Drivers are encouraged to find alternative routes as delays are expected this morning.
A spokesperson for GMP said: “Greater Manchester Police are currently responding to a collision involving a police vehicle and a 16-year-old pedestrian boy that happened at around 7am today (Friday 6 October 2023) on St Helens Road, Bolton.
“The full extent of the injuries sustained are unknown at this time with a scene still in place whilst enquiries continue.
“Delays are expected as a result and drivers are encouraged to find alternative routes.
“Anyone with information that may help officers is asked to call 101 quoting incident 547 of 06/10/2023.”
