Teenager dies in the street after being found seriously injured

Police have launched an investigation after a teenager who was found badly injured in a street in Trafford has died.

The 18-year-old was found on Booth Road in Altrincham with ‘serious injuries’ at around 5am on Saturday morning, August 12th. Tragically, he died at the scene.

Greater Manchester police are now trying to ‘establish the full circumstances surrounding his death and are following up multiple lines of inquiry’.

Officers have appealed for information. Roads around the scene were closed with a forensic tent in place over the weekend.

A spokesperson for GMP issued a statement which read: “Greater Manchester Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit is investigating an incident on Booth Road in Altrincham.

“At around 5am this morning  (August 12th 2023) an 18-year-old man was found in the road with serious injuries and despite best efforts of emergency services he tragically passed away at the scene.

“A cordon has been implemented and officers are working at pace to establish the full circumstances surrounding his death and are following up multiple lines of inquiry.
