The statement read: “Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan and the whole Wanted family are devastated by the tragic and premature loss of our bandmate Tom Parker, who passed away peacefully at lunchtime today surrounded by his family and his band mates.

“Tom was an amazing husband to Kelsey, and father to Aurelia and Bodhi. He was our brother, words can’t express the loss and sadness we feel. Always and forever in our hearts.”

A number of musicians and celebrities also paid tribute to Tom, including Ed Sheeran who wrote: “So sad to hear of Tom’s passing. Thoughts and love are with Kelsey, his children and his family. Very sad day, what a lovely guy.”

Howard Donald from Take That also tweeted: “So young and so sad. RIP Tom Parker from The Wanted. Strength and love to his family.”

Presenter Davina McCall remembered Parker as the ‘kindest soul’, writing on Twitter: “Don’t even know what to say. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kelsey and the kids and to Toms family, also to the wanted boys. I’m so so sorry . The kindest soul.”

The Bolton-born musician was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour in 2020 and was given just eighteen months to live.

However, the singer went on to defy all odds after undergoing several gruelling rounds of chemotherapy and thirty radiotherapy sessions, all of which he documented on his social media pages.

And late last year, fans were hopeful after he revealed his brain tumour had ‘shrunk significantly’, noting that it was ‘under control’ and stable’.
