Spoons is set to open its first pub at a UK holiday park chain in time for the summer and beer garden weather.

Haven Primrose Valley Holiday Park, in North Yorkshire, confirmed the partnership with the popular UK boozer.

The new, yet to be named, Wetherspoons will open at the resort in March, adding to its 830 pubs across the UK.

The £1.1 million site will feature a familiar interior with ‘all the hallmarks of a beloved Wetherspoons’. Menu options will include salads and popular pub classics with 250 seats for customers.

Guests can make the most of the pub’s beer garden throughout the summer, which overlooks the holiday park grounds.

The move is part of Haven’s huge £4 million investment into the food and drink offerings at its parks.

The deal will make Haven the ‘first and only holiday park operator’ to launch a Spoons venue at one of its 38 resorts in the UK.

Haven’s chief operating officer, Peter Blake, said: “We are thrilled to be the first holiday provider to partner with one of the UK’s leading and much-loved pub operators.

“This new venture underlines our dedication to growing our food and beverage partnerships and offering for our holidaymakers and holiday home owners.”

JD Wetherspoon’s commercial director, Michael Barron, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Haven and are confident that the pub will prove popular with holidaymakers.”

In 2014, Wetherspoon opened the first motorway service station pub, The Hope and Champion, off the M40 in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire – though it faced a backlash from road safety campaigners.

Wetherspoons is the seventh food and drink brand to collaborate with Haven, alongside Burger King and Papa Johns.

Haven also opened a brand new holiday park in Skegness last summer in the former Richmond Holiday Centre.

The rebranded site includes NERF training camps, new restaurants and a heated swimming pool.
