‘Tis the season for a Christmassy McDonald’s

It’s the Christmas news we’ve all been waiting for: McDonald’s has launched its 2021 Christmas menu with some seriously exciting new additions.

However, the new menu has come at a cost.

The arrival of the new festive items has seen the departure of some old favourites; the Chicken Legend and its variants, the Cool Mayo, the BBQ and the Hot & Spicy Mayo. Other items facing the axe include the Double Big Mac, the ever-so-popular Mozzarella Dippers and the Crunchy McFlurry.

But fear not! Because these items are only being removed on a temporary basis and will make their grand return in January once the Christmas menu comes to an end. Phew.

So, now we’ve got that difficult news out of the way, shall we take a proper look at the restaurant’s new festive menu?

Launching next week on November 17th, the menu boasts a whole array of delicious new additions, such as the Festive Crispy Chicken, a burger consisting of a chicken breast fillet with cranberry sauce, sage and onion mayo, bacon, red onion, lettuce, and cheddar cheese – the Chicken Legend on festive steroids, basically.

Also new to the menu will be the Festive Stack, a burger containing two beef patties, red onion relish, white cheese sauce, bacon, crispy onions, red onion, lettuce and cheddar cheese.

And replacing the famous Mozzarella Dippers will be the Cheese Melt Dippers, delightful little drops of camembert, deep fried and served alongside a tangy tomato dip – better yet, these dippers can be ordered in a sharing box to either share or devour to yourself (I’ll be doing the latter).

For dessert, there will be the Celebrations McFlurry which will contain clusters of Maltesers, Galaxy chocolate drops, Caramel pieces, Mars chewy nuggets and Twix biscuits, all topped with milk chocolate sauce. There will also be the new Festive Pie, consisting of mincemeat and custard.

There’s also two new drinks on the menu this year; the Choco Fudge Latte and the Hot Chocolate Deluxe

Here’s the new menu in full:

  • Festive Crispy Chicken – £4.89 on its own, £6.39 as a meal
  • Festive Stack – £4.89 on its own, £6.39 as a meal
  • Cheese Melt Dippers – £1.89
  • Cheese Melt Dippers Sharebox – £5.09
