Sainsbury’s is doing giant ‘pigs in beach towels’ for summer barbecue season

We all know that pigs in blankets are the best part of Christmas dinner, but for some reason they don’t seem to get much of a look in for the rest of the year.
Well, not any more, as Sainsbury’s is launching some new giant ‘pigs in beach towels’ just in time for the summer barbecue season.
Made of jumbo British pork sausages wrapped in chestnut smoked streaky bacon, the pork treat is ideal for summer.

It’s launching with the rest of Sainsbury’s Summer Edition, which dropped both in stores and online from April 28th.
The supermarket sold over 20 million individual pigs in blankets at Christmas, meaning it’s a no-brainer to bring out a summer version of the festive treat.
The new pigs in beach blankets will set you back £4.50 for a pack.

The Summer Edition also features some brand new feta and spinach parcels for £2, falafel balls which will set you back £2, as well as a sweet potato falafel option (£2.50).
You can also grab harissa lamb and chicken koftas (£2.50), Raw Chilli & Garlic Prawn Skewers (£4) and Tandoori Vegan Kebabs (£2.50).
There’s also Halloumi & Vegetable Kebabs with Sweet Chilli Glaze (£3.75), as well as Mexican Corn Fritters (£2.50).
