EasyJet launches two flights a week to Lapland from Manchester this Christmas

EasyJet have added a new destination for Christmas with twice weekly flights from Manchester to Lapland.

The new winter route will operate twice a week from November 16th this year, travelling to Kittila throughout the Christmas period. The festive news was announced by the budget airline on Friday.

The new destination is sure to put smiles on the faces of many children wanting to travel to the magical home of Father Christmas with guaranteed snow and plenty of reindeer to meet.

Kittila is located 150km north of Rovaniemi in the Finnish region of Lapland, in the Northern Arctic Circle. 

The winter resort will also appeal for those wishing to holiday somewhere with a chance to see the Northern Lights, take part in winter sports activities, and go somewhere special to get engaged.

Ticket availability for the flights — which depart twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays — are on sale now on the easyJet website.

EasyJet said that having added a new route that connects Manchester to Kittila will provide a new exciting destination for those looking to celebrate a special Christmas break away.

Commenting on the festive news for the airline and its travellers, Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “We’re delighted to be adding a new route from Manchester to Kittila this winter. 

“As an entirely new destination in our network, this new connection means we are able to build on our offering from Manchester for those in search of winter breaks by providing customers more choice to enjoy an even greater range of destinations this winter at fantastic low fares.

“Lapland is perfect especially for families with children looking to visit Father Christmas, winter ski lovers and all those wishing to explore this magical arctic destination.”

And Robert Smith, Aviation Director at Manchester Airport, said: “We know a family trip to Lapland is on many of our passengers’ Christmas lists so it’s fantastic to see easyJet launching a service from Manchester to Kittila this winter.

“This new service demonstrates easyJet’s commitment to providing outstanding choice year-round to passengers flying from Manchester.”

Manchester to Kittila flights will operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays from November 16th with fares starting from £40.99.

Flights from Manchester to Rovaniemi will also operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays from November 18th with fares starting from £69.
