Aldi and Lidl shoppers, pay attention; a unique opportunity has arisen that will pay people to shop in the middle aisle.

There’s no arguing that the two budget supermarkets are the kings of middle aisle shopping; whether it’s Lidl branded trainers you’re after or a hanging egg chair for your cat, you’ll be bound to find them floating around in their middle aisles.

And now, you could potentially earn a little cash on the side while browsing the famed aisles thanks to an exciting new ‘job’ opportunity courtesy of savings platform WeThrift.

Research conducted by the platform recently found that a number of middle aisle products are being bought just to be flogged online, with an average resale price of £27.66 for Lidl items and £11.53 for those from Aldi.

So, in order to prevent this from happening, WeThrift are now on the look out for three people to browse these sections of the supermarket to identify the next trending sale buys before the re-sellers do.

The job advert reads: “The chosen shoppers will need to find and purchase the latest must-have bargains from Lidl and Aldi, so customers who weren’t able to buy them locally in store can purchase them online via our site for the same price.”

The successful applicants must be flexible and be able to work remotely for the role, which offers a handsome rate of £30 an hour and £500 to spend on middle aisle items. The only other requirements are that all applicants must be at least eighteen-years-old, have access to a computer or smartphone, and are able to travel to at least one Lidl, Aldi, and Sainsbury’s store.

Nick Drewe, founder of WeThrift said: “In the UK we know that people have an affinity for reselling products, whether its old sofas, second hand trainers, or Aldi’s Kevin the Carrot plush toy, if there’s a buck to be made the entrepreneurial British people will be selling it.

“However, sometimes a product is particularly popular in one area, therefore hundreds of consumers may miss out. We want to ensure that everyone has the chance to buy a converted middle aisle product.

“Our hope is to get all of the candidates confirmed by the middle of February, so if you love browsing the middle aisle of a discount supermarket, please get in touch.”

Applications for the role close February 11th, and the successful candidates will be selected by February 18th.

If you think you’re up to the job, you can send off your application on the WeThrift website.
