Aldi is looking for a number of wine tasters to test and review its new range of wines — yes, that’s right!
If you enjoy a glass of vino to compliment your dinner or to take the edge off after a tough day at work, and you fancy yourself a bit of a wine connoisseur, this could be the perfect job for you. Aldi is on the lookout for a selection of wine experts to sample and review its new range of wines — you can even take home some free bottles of the good stuff.
The budget supermarket is preparing for wine season again and is now looking for 30 wine samplers to taste its new line and give honest feedback. Those who are lucky enough to be recruited will be sent three bottles of wine and will be tasked with drinking it within a six-week period.
The wine samplers will be asked to review a selection of Aldi’s new wines via social media by using the hashtag #AldiWineClub on their Instagram and Twitter pages. The best part about it is the wine is completely free, so if you enjoy drinking fermented grape juice then this could be the perfect calling for you.
Each bottle of wine will come with tasting notes from Sam Caporn, Mistress of Wine and head of the Aldi Wine School. She will also include some expert tips on how to taste the wine properly — so you’ll even become a bonafide wine expert by the end of the experience.
So how do you apply to be a wine taster for Aldi? It’s quite simple and straightforward, all you need to do is send an email to aldiwineclub@clarioncomms.co.uk. In the email you will need to add your full name, proof of age and follower handles, plus your follower counts.
You’ll also need to convince them that you’re the right person for the job in a 150 word covering letter about which of the supermarket’s wines is your favourite and why. To be fair, it’s just a small price to pay and minimal effort in exchange for some free bottles to drink.
The job description on Aldi’s website says: “Are you a wine enthusiast? Do you have a nose for aromas and impeccable tastebuds? Or simply want the opportunity to try some FREE wines?
“We are looking for thirty vino-loving superstars to make up our latest Aldi Wine Club panel – an exclusive group of Aldi shoppers with a passion for wine. All you’ll be tasked with is reviewing each wine via a 140-character tweet or Instagram post using the dedicated #AldiWineClub hashtag– it’s as simple as that!”
As you’ve probably guessed, you’ll need to be over 18 to apply for a chance to be selected for a position in the Aldi Wine Club and, if you’re an Aldi employee or you’re related to one, then that counts you out too.
Applicants have until Monday March 13th to register their interest – we have a feeling this one will fill up pretty quickly so act fast and give it your best shot.
