Aldi shopper in disbelief after finding £5k golden ticket in chocolate bar

One lucky Aldi shopper was left in total disbelief after finding a golden ticket worth £5,000 in a chocolate bar.

Sian Walker was shopping with her son in the Aldi Station Road store in Nantwich when she unraveled the golden ticket in a Dairyfine Golden Giveaway Chocolate Bar.

Sian’s ticket was worth £5,000, though some can be valued as high as £10,000. 

The forty-three-year-old said she had been joking with her son about winning a ticket, and had even ‘pretended to win’ before opening the chocolate bar.

She said: “I couldn’t believe it. I first picked up one of the smaller bars of chocolate then swapped it for the larger one to share with my son.

“We were joking around pretending we had won and then when we opened it up it was such a surprise to see the golden ticket inside!

“It’s such an amazing gift and has come just in time for helping us build our dream extension on our home.

“Thank you so much Aldi, this really is going to make such a big difference!”

And for hopefuls wanting their own golden ticket, only three winners have been announced so far, meaning there are still twenty-two tickets valued between £5,000 – £10,000 up for grabs in chocolate bars across the country.

To be in with a chance of winning a golden ticket, shoppers simply have to buy a giant 800g bar of Dairyfine Chocolate. If a ticket is uncovered, it can be claimed over on the Aldi website.
